Windows 10 / 11 · 64-bit

Colour management arrives — OCIO v2 and ACES, with per-clip input colour spaces so scene-linear renders, finished graphics and reference movies can sit on one timeline without fighting each other. Alongside it, a round of playback, caching and timecode work for mixed MP4 and EXR projects.

Colour management

  • New OCIO v2 and ACES colour-management support.
  • New Studio display and view transforms are loaded directly from the active OCIO configuration.
  • New Per-clip input colour-space controls for mixed-colour workflows.
  • New Auto (recommended) mode picks a sensible interpretation for standard media and scene-linear EXR files.
  • New Display-referred sRGB keeps finished PNG, JPG and graphic overlays looking right inside an ACES workflow.
  • Improved Standard MP4, PNG, JPG, TIFF and ordinary EXR media stay on the fast display path when advanced colour processing is unnecessary.
  • Improved Colour-space controls show the selected clip’s interpretation more clearly.
  • Improved Mixed ACES, scene-linear and display-ready media can be reviewed together without forcing one interpretation on every layer.

Playback and Contact Sheet performance

  • Improved Contact Sheet playback with large projects and mixed media.
  • Improved Playback performance when MP4 movies and EXR sequences are loaded together.
  • Improved GPU texture-upload buffering, for smoother multi-layer playback.
  • Improved Background EXR caching now works in smaller, less disruptive batches.
  • Improved EXR cache warming no longer restarts repeatedly as the playhead moves.
  • Improved Large stacks of standard media avoid unnecessary colour-processing work.
  • Improved Layer selection, layer movement and timeline-panel resizing stay responsive on large projects.
  • Fixed Frame-rate drops when cached movies were combined with EXR sequences.
  • Fixed Stuttering when the same EXR sequence was duplicated across several Contact Sheet tiles.

Cache behaviour

  • Improved Cache scheduling now behaves the same whether movies, EXRs or other image formats are loaded first.
  • Improved Mixed-format projects cache without needing a particular import order.
  • Improved The project cache indicator stays continuous and reflects cached timeline coverage accurately.
  • Improved Duplicate layers reuse frame data that is already available instead of repeating the work.
  • Fixed Fragmented cache-progress indicators in mixed MP4 and EXR projects.
  • Fixed EXR background loading interfering with real-time playback after the visible frames were already available.

EXR sequences

  • Improved EXR sequence duration and playback information now describe the complete sequence rather than a single image.
  • Improved Opening one numbered EXR frame continues to detect and load the complete sequence.
  • Improved Large EXR sequences and duplicated EXR layers play more smoothly in Contact Sheet mode.
  • Fixed Incorrect sequence timecode near the end of an EXR frame range.
  • Fixed Adjacent frames occasionally showing a large and incorrect jump in time.
  • Fixed Sequence-relative frame numbering and time display for sequences starting at a non-zero frame number.

Timecode

  • Improved On-screen timecode uses the actual project frame rate.
  • Improved Current time and total duration stay consistent across movies and image sequences.
  • Improved Timecode formatting is shared consistently between playback and review output.
  • Fixed Incorrect timecode calculations caused by rounding fractional frame rates to whole numbers.
  • Fixed Adjacent frames showing inconsistent or impossible time differences.

Installer and licensing

  • Updated EULA version reference and effective date.
  • Updated Third-party component inventory.
  • Improved Build identification, so an installed version can be identified precisely when reporting an issue.

Version

1.0.1

21 August 2026

Windows 10 / 11 · 64-bit

This update improves Windows integration, long-movie handling, timeline performance, caching feedback and review annotations. RAW Sequencer 1.0.1 feels faster and more dependable with large layer stacks, long movies and annotation-heavy review sessions.

Windows Explorer integration

  • New Open supported images and movies directly from Windows Explorer with Open with → RAW Sequencer.
  • New Additional files opened from Explorer are sent to the RAW Sequencer window already running, instead of launching more copies.
  • New Opening or dragging several files stacks them as layers, without automatically entering comparison mode.
  • Improved Opening one numbered EXR or image frame now detects and loads its complete sequence.
  • Improved Handling of filenames containing spaces and Unicode characters.

Long movies

  • New Memory-controlled rolling cache for long movies.
  • Improved RAW Sequencer no longer attempts to preload an entire multi-hour movie into RAM.
  • Improved Cache size now uses the actual measured memory footprint of decoded frames.
  • Improved Seeking to a distant part of a movie moves the cache window around the new playhead position.
  • Improved Memory stability while scrubbing and playing very long, high-resolution movies.
  • Improved Short clips are still cached completely when they fit inside the selected cache limit.

Cache progress

  • Improved The main cache bar now represents the complete loaded project, not only the currently selected clip.
  • Improved A position reads as fully cached only when every loaded layer covering it is cached.
  • Improved Individual layer cache bars remain available, to show which clip is still loading.
  • Improved The cache indicator now covers the complete global timeline, including clips extending beyond the base layer.
  • Fixed Cache indicators becoming incorrect after deleting clips or using undo and redo.

Timeline

  • Improved Timeline ruler spacing now adapts to the duration and the visible zoom level.
  • Improved Frame numbers stay readable on short clips, long sequences and multi-hour movies.
  • Improved Layer-panel resizing with large stacks.
  • Improved Previously drawn timeline rows are retained while resizing, so only newly exposed rows are rendered.
  • Improved Significantly smoother timeline resizing with large numbers of layers.

Annotations and review

  • Fixed Annotation markers now appear on the clip the annotation was actually created on.
  • Improved Markers for annotations across all loaded clips are visible without selecting every clip individually.
  • Improved Annotation markers move with their clips when clips are repositioned on the timeline.
  • Fixed Deleting, restoring, moving or retiming a clip now updates its annotation markers correctly.
  • Improved Annotation behaviour across clip deletion, undo and redo.
  • Improved Annotations remain independently attached to their owning clips.

Annotation text tools

  • New Font-family choices — Sans, Condensed, Mono and Serif.
  • New Regular, Medium and Bold font weights.
  • New Italic text.
  • New Left, centre and right text alignment.
  • New Adjustable text outline strength, for readability over bright or detailed images.
  • New Adjustable callout-card opacity.
  • Improved Direct text editing on the image, replacing the oversized text-entry box.
  • Improved Easier editing and duplication of selected annotations.
  • Improved Text and callout appearance throughout the Review panel.

Installer and packaging

  • Improved Installer information and EULA version references.
  • Improved Windows file-association support.
  • Improved Embedded application branding resources, for cleaner installation packaging.
  • Removed The Default Apps shortcut in the Tools menu.
